Three weeks to go...

Packages, packages little and large are on the move, travelling far and wide as i make my ditch effort to round up the last wedding bits and bobs. I've been running through the scenarios in my head, trying to fill in the gaps in decor and detail to pull the look together. And, we are almost there, just three weeks to go!
Etsy is my new bestest sidekick, Amazon has turned up some absolute genius and i am patting myself warmly on the back at my brilliant resourcefulness and clever time management. It's also all getting sent direct to the UK so i can buy a little more time on delivery and not have to squeeze it all into my suitcase. Result!

Heres a few favourite shops i've found on Etsy for adding the most gorgeous handmade touches to your wedding day.

Watercolour Wedding

All the way from the US of A, I'm hugely happy to share a little sneek peek of our wedding invitations!

Phew, its been an incredibly busy time! Planning our wedding has been no small task and has quickly taken over every spare moment but the countdown has begun and things are slowly coming together...
Seeing our invitations for the first time was an amazing boost, after 8 months of planning, all the endless decisions and stressing over the details, although I feel guilty to admit it, moral was certainly flagging.
Weddings are damn hard work.

Seeing a little piece of it, the first hint your guests will have of the day ahead AMAZING.

Huge thanks to Dapper Paper, for all their hard work and patience. Beautiful job guys!

Pre Wedding Shoot

We are back, and what a trip it was! Try squeezing months of wedding plans into 2 weeks and what you get is two very shellshocked persons. Hotels, menus, florists, tailors, paperwork and appointments. Snow yes snow, a wonderful wedding of a lovely friend and even a belated family Christmas.  We did it all, it was great and fun and crazy and hell i could use a holiday :)

Planning an Irish wedding from Australia has been..interesting. We've sourced everything possible online, from the venue to my wedding dress. And we've done it pretty much on our own. Many a time I'm been desperate to bounce ideas with my friends, to ask family all the questions in my head. The mister although amazing on organising all the big tasks is even more lost in the details than i am and there's lots to think of. Getting home we had the chance to meet some of the talented folks who will help us create the big day and to see in person the place where it will all come together. It made it all more real, which was wonderful.

Can't say i was always able to see how wonderful it was at that crazy time, but there were moments. Such as this day in Belfast, on our Pre Wedding Shoot.

It was a freezing cold morning, misty grey and biting sharp and we rugged up and wandered off down the cobbled backstreets of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter. I've long loved these parts, the old alleyways, the hidden pubs. Here as a student i would sneak off with friends after classes at the Art College, here we celebrated graduation, here i took the Mister on our first trip back to Ireland together. Happy times.

Much thanks to Kristi, at Campbell Photography Belfast for her amazing photographs and cheeky pint at the Duke. See you again soon!

Homeward Bound

Today we fly! I can hardly believe it we are off to the UK already.

Our year so far has been off to a rocky start with some sad news from home that knocked me square on my ass. I have been catching up somewhat since and tonight, we are off home to finalise our wedding plans. I'm a little bit nervous! Did i mention i wont be home for the Big Day in May till two weeks before? Plenty of time surely, i thought? It turns out that was more than a little optimistic of me and instead the two weeks of holiday ahead have filled up fast with serious wedding business to get done.
I have an inkling however that just as soon as i get arrive with plans at the ready, all i will want to do is sit back and catch up and just be at home. It's funny how being there just takes me straight back to where i left off, as if the past few years in Aus have been some crazy dream.
I will have a quiet goodbye to make also, to Denise who was always such a huge unerring support of my adventures, creative and otherwise. I will remember and love you for that always.

Bye for now, hopefully when i return i'll have a few wedding sneak peaks to share :)

Hello 2013

After another coffee and a packed lunch for the road we were on route to Seal Rocks. It was almost midday now and we had a long drive ahead to bring in the New Year on the beach.

It was a gorgeous day in green and blue and we tried to stay off the Highway where we could as we drove South.

We reached the Rocks after nightfall, set up camp and with the help of a bbq and some bubbles we welcomed 2013 and all that it would bring. It was quiet and it was lovely.

In the morning we woke to waves crashing and a huge surf at Seal Rocks. Not that i was surfing, hell no I leave that to the braver folks, but we we did manage a dip and a few hours toasting in the Sun, not a bad way to start the year.

2013 is a big one for us, in exactly one month we will be flying home to the UK for a visit. And in five months we will be off again to get wed and start our lives as proper married folks. Strange thought it is, my last ever Christmas as a "Miss" has just past without me even noticing it hmmm.

Happy New Year Everyone!

:)
